Everything below is answered the way Kyler answers it on the phone. If your question is not here, it is because it is about your property specifically, and that one is worth a call.
How this works.
Is it really just one person?
Yes. No crew, no dispatcher, no call center. Kyler quotes the property, Kyler does the work, and Kyler is the one you talk to when something needs to change.
What area do you cover?
The route is built around Kalispell and stretches out through the valley as the schedule allows: Evergreen, Whitefish, Columbia Falls, Bigfork, Somers and Lakeside. One operator means the map moves with the season, so ask about your road rather than assuming either way. See the towns.
How do I reach him if he is out working?
Text (406) 261-5296. He is behind a machine most of the day and a text gets read at the next stop. If it is urgent, call and leave one, and he calls back.
What if the work is not right?
His own words on the About page: if a property ever looks like it got the hurry-up version, call and he comes back out. That is not a policy, it is the deal.
Grass questions.
What does lawn care cost?
It depends on the property, and a number given over the phone without seeing it is a guess. Kyler comes and looks, then gives you the number. How he prices it.
Weekly or every other week?
Weekly through June and July is what keeps a Flathead lawn thick instead of shocked. Every other week is usually plenty in the shoulder months.
Do you bag the clippings?
Mulched back into the turf most weeks. Bagged and hauled when the grass got long or when it is too wet to look right chopped up.
When does the mowing season start?
When the ground firms up enough that a mower will not rut it, which in the valley is usually somewhere in April. It ends after the last leaves are down and before the first hard freeze.
Do you do sprinklers, fertilizer or landscaping?
No. Mowing, trimming, edging, cleanups and snow. Kyler would rather do five things all the way than ten things halfway, and he will tell you who is good at the rest.
Snow questions.
How much snow before he comes?
That is yours to set. Tell Kyler the depth you want him rolling on and whether the drive has to be open before a certain hour. A steep drive and a flat one do not want the same trigger.
Walkways too, or just the driveway?
Walkways too. The drive gets you out, but the walk and the steps are where the mail carrier, the meter reader and your parents go, and they are where somebody actually falls.
When should I get on the winter list?
Before it snows. The people who call in November are the ones not standing in a foot of snow calling strangers in December, and one operator has a real limit on how many drives he can hold to a schedule.
Do you salt or sand?
Ask him about your property when you call (406) 261-5296. What a north-facing walk in Whitefish needs is not what a flat south apron in Kalispell needs.
Is it the same person who mows in summer?
Yes, and that is the whole point of the business. He already knows where your sprinkler heads are and where the drive drops off into the lawn under a foot of snow.
